I noticed some scenes where the top couple inches of a characters head was cut off. Did anyone else notice this? Or perhaps my cinema was projecting it incorrectly or at the wrong ratio. Or was this intentional and I do not understand the meaning?
shareI am a projectionist, and the DCP came formatted for FLAT 1.85:1. So that's the aspect ratio I played it in. I also noticed that in many of the shots the heads were being cut off, so I checked to make sure I was playing it in the proper aspect ratio. I was. So either it's shoddy camera work, or the studio sent it out in the wrong format. You're not crazy though.
shareThe actual aspect ratio of the film is 2.00:1 so it must be the second reason. Or that DCP cannot have this aspect ratio yet.
