Should I check out the book?
I red one Roth book before and didn't really like it..
I did enjoy this movie though and I am curious about some of the story left out.
I read the book and found it incredibly depressing, which, from what I can tell, is one characteristic of Roth's writing. It's smart, but for me, not particularly enjoyable. The movie is very true to the book. The only plot left out is that Marcus' roommate Flusser is in love with him, and goes into his new room and masturbates all over everything. I don't remember exactly why. He's trying to get revenge on him for being with Olivia, I think.
