DEPRESSING

It was beautiful in a number of ways, but just sooooooo depressing. I don't need to see that again.

You know what they say... no one with missing teeth wears an Armani suit.

I couldn't agree more. There are some things to which you say, "I've been there, I've done that. I appreciated it, but I don't need to put myself through it again." Oddly enough, I found the film slightly less bleak than the book, and that's saying something.

Not a film for the sensitive hearted. I just finished watching it in a November Saturday afternoon and it made me feel so cold both emotionally and physically...

I am not arguing with the above responses in any way, because people felt a certain way and that isn't "wrong". I almost skipped the movie after reading the above responses. I didn't find the movie as depressing. It made me think and I am certain I will continue to think on it.

The scene between the Dean and Marcus was very inspiring. That dialogue almost felt like live theatre and the scene is masterful.

It does not have a happy ending and some might call it 'tragic' but it is also very realistic and presents an interesting view on a time and the consequences of our choices or even our influence on others.
