"Warra" means "go away" in the language of the Eora people of New South Wales. I read that in The Fatal Shore by Robert Hughs.
Is the show actually set in NSW? The police insignias look like Vic ones.
It's set in central Victoria, and the nearest major town is Shepparton, which means it's likely Yorta Yorta land. Not sure on the meaning of the Yorta Yorta words (I can't find any online resource for it).
