season 1 spoilers

thoroughly enjoyed this show and i can't wait for more. from what i can tell it seems that noregard (no-regard) must have spilled chemicals into the water table, that seeped into the ground that resurrected the dead, and the living have been drinking polluted water so when they die they too are resurrected.

the whistle might have been a dog whistle, not sure but it seems to have triggered more memories in the revenants so they now understand a lot more about their previous lives.

there does seem to be a bit of voodoo going on with the town border/waterline and Vic having a gauntless purpose when he resurrected from the car accident, but the original 7 revenants had no memories nor purpose except to find out who they were.
