I did not like The Returned (US) But This Looks Good
After watching the pilot, I think Im gonna binge this once season 1 is done.

shareI am enjoying it. The writing is good unlike 'Resurrection.' The fact the writers are using threads in the show means we are into a devilish shock in the end. I never expected the mayor to be the kids great-grandfather. The sub-dramas are well done also.
shareYeah, that's what I thought, but by the 3rd episode I had lost most of my interest. Since I was already halfway through, I thought I might as well watch it all the way to see if it got better. It didn't. It was more like a song with an amazing 4 bar intro that leads you to believe you're about to hear the mega hit of your lifetime, but then when the first verse starts it just dissolves into some prog rock instrumental B-side snooze fest.
It's only 6 episodes, so you'd expect it to be jam packed with substance like a miniseries, but nooo. These guys just go ahead and spread the story razor thin like it was an ABC show with 24 episodes per season and lots of filler. So I guess this show will need 4 seasons to cover the same amount of story as, say, season 1 of Lost. Good luck with that.
I binged it, and I am going to watch Season 2 when it's available, but it did start waffling around, pushing soap operatic filler a bit much, as Season 1 episodes progressed.
No reason for that IMHO (other than sheer laziness), when it has such a strong start.
C'mon writers! Now's your chance to get enticingly creative! Don't disappoint!

Glitch definitely better than The Returned. A hand for the Aussies.
