Love the concept, hate the characters

The idea of a group of resurrected bodies that can't leave a specific geographical location is a great set-up for a show, but damn these characters are so annoying. I don't understand why they wrote them to be so selfish and dumb.

The cop, James, seems to be the only one trying to handle the situation and figure it out. Meanwhile, all of the resurrected act like spoiled brats. They complain and whine like children as if they can't comprehend the gravity of the situation; that is they have literally risen from the dead.

Kirstie is the worst of all. I just want one scene where James or the doctor tell her to shut up and be grateful that anyone is trying to help her.

Isn't Kirstie just supposed to be 18 or 19 years old? When they mentioned her age, I think that help explain the situation a little. She's the youngest and therefore likely very immature, I realize everyone matures differently, however she might be a late bloomer - you figure when she died she might have just graduated high school.

I really like the concept too, but the characters are a little annoying. In fact, that is why I was looking at this board to see if anyone else felt the same. I don't think it would be so bad if it was just one or two characters but they all act that way.

The direction is good and the acting is good but their emotional and intellectual reaction to things is just too two-dimensional. Yes, some people can be that way in real life but not everyone.

It kind of reminds me of a bad French film where the characters do inexplicable things simply to satisfy some pretentious end of the director. There are plenty of great French films too but the character motivations in this series remind me of the bad French films.

I thought the original series called "The Return" did a better job handling a similar subject matter. The show could be so much better without the plodding character interaction. I might keep watching to see if it gets any better.
