Murdered.... Spoilers
So far we know that 3 were murdered.. Is that the common link?
shareSo who killed Kate?
shareNobody, because no that is not the link. Kate died from cancer, Maria died in a car accident.

You know those two could still have been murdered. Kate mentioned that she should've fought more to live and for all we know Sarah ended her suffering as a mercy killing and/or because she was also in love with her husband. She did admit to being attracted to him while he was still with Kate.
Maria was shown briefly conscious after the car accident, that's it. She could've died as was shown and implied or she simply became unconscious and someone finished her off after.
I think 4 were murdered that we know of so far. Going to go back through and plot out their deaths when I finish the final epi. We know that Maria wasn't murdered.
shareKate: Cancer, presumably (not murder)
Charlie: Unless I missed it, we never found out the specifics of his death. (???)
John Doe: Death by hanging. Appeared to be handcuffed during the scene indicating lynching, but could also be a suicide. Exhibited criminal behavior but also claimed to have "wanted to die", so either seem equally likely to me as of now (potential murder of sorts?)
Carlo: Shot while trying to escape (murder of sorts)
Patrick: Throat was slit by son (murder)
Maria: Died in car accident along with 10yo daughter (not murder)
Kirstie: Strangled in woods by unknown man (murder)
--------------------
Dr. McKellar: Died in the hospital making murder less likely, but still possible. Details unknown. (???)
Vick: Died in car accident (not murder)
Sarah: Childbirth (not murder)
Not seeing a consistent pattern with their deaths yet.
Those are all instances of someone dying "before their time".
shareI guess, but feels like too vague of a connection to me, especially when you take into account the ones who have been dead for much longer since society was different back then and thus the concept of "before their time" would be sort of different, too.
shareNonsense. "Before their time" isn't something we can actually determine since we don't know how fate works in this universe.

When kate ran away and ended up at the playground she mentioned that she stopped the chemo. Maybe this counts as some sort of assisted suicide?
shareIt could work if you replace "murder" with "death by human will" (either by their own hand or another's).
shareStill doesn't work because there was no will involved in Maria's death. The definition of an accident.

she was coerced into driving the car and she killed her daughter
shareI think Charlie probably drank himself to death. In his last flash back he was drinking alone in the bar. I think survival guilt got him.
Vick: Died in car accident (not murder)
Sarah: Childbirth (not murder)
Maria died in a car accident. This theory is dead.
