I thought it went downhill after the cop's car accident

I really liked the series when it was on the more mellow wavelength of the first, what, two and a half episodes or so? We already have TWD and lots of other shows and movies that go more the thriller/horror route, so I'm kind of disappointed by that turn. I wonder if the writers were always intending to go that way, or if they just kind of went there on the fly for lack of other ideas to provide narrative momentum.

Yeah, the whole thing there was confusing, fuzzy and took a turn against what was good about this series ... that was that it was not like Walking Dead. I am just watching this with my girlfriend and she liked it immediately, and one thing that seals that is what a great cop James is and how he reacts to Kate.

This show is really good, and I am happy to see on Wikipedia that it says it has been picked up for another season. That is really good because writing this good demands support. Also the acting and directing is just fantastic.

But you're right that the guy dying and then deciding for some reason that all of them have to die because it is not right, is just kind of silly. But then the teaser at the end that the Doctor woman has been dead as well.

Anyway, I'm up to watch another season whenever it comes around.

I will watch too, but it's well put: I don't need or want this to be like TWD.

It's really not like TWD at all. A more apt comparison would be The Returned.

Vic obviously dies in the accident as a means for an outside entity to remote into this simulation. That is why he starts going after the glitched characters.

But why or how are their characters glitches?

Spoiler...
I think Vic's body was inhabited by none other than Death itself. The Grim Reaper. That's why he's trying to set things right. It's his job.
