You take jobs you don't like to do stuff you do and he has kids who probably like Smosh. He's far from fallen, check out his docs on Napster and Deep Web, they're incredible.

On paper, you'd think he'd handle the movie with care. He has a lot of experience with this sort of set-up: One hilarious screw-up friend, one charming but doofy friend, wacky adventures, random jokes. Just look at his track record. His IMDB is FILLED with movies with the same plot.
Buuuuuut, for some reason, he was pretty lackluster here. You could tell the Smosh guys were doing their best with the materials but...well, they're only so talented. While Ian and Anthony do a great job with every joke, the jokes just weren't on the same level as their usual stuff.
I enjoyed the movie BUT I hope they choose one of their internal directors to handle another movie. Their skits are hilarious. They are hilarious. There's NO reason this movie should have been so....bland except that the director just wasn't on their level.
