...that they wont spend an entire season just stretching out the movie into a TV sitcom? Spend the first 3-4 episodes covering all the material of the movie - FINE, then transition into new territory not covered in the film but possibly covered in the books. That would work. Anyone who has seen the movie has no motivation to sit through a full season just to see a stretched out version of the movie alone. Would be pointless.

they could easily break the plot down to 3 Four Episode Arcs
1- Swagger the Sucker
2- Swagger the Target
3- Swagger the Hunter
and from THERE have season two take on the Material of the other Books

This is the first time I am signed on for multiple seasons. One of the reasons why Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson wanted to resurrect this character (for TV) is that there are several books written about him.
So the movie that Mark did only touched on one book. For brevity’s sake, they couldn’t delve into the intricacies and complexities that we get to explore in this first season.
