I can't get over this...

I apologize if someone has already started a topic regarding this. I did a cursory glance around this MB and couldn't find one so sorry if this is redundant. Also, this will contain spoilers from the premier episode.

So from the beginning the whole plan from Johnson and his cohorts was to frame Bob Lee Swagger for the shooting. He did a good job of setting BLS up and we don't need to go into all the details. The main point I want to make is how in the world did Johnson know that BLS would end up in the room with the gun where Payne confronted him and was supposed to kill him? I mean BLS was at the parade route watching the motorcade with his wife, he gets a call saying that the supposed assassin isn't at the place that BLS hypothesized he would be at, BLS has an epiphany and realizes where the shooter is probably at, then races there to place himself in a room with the gun and make it appear to all that he was the killer thus completing the set up. Maybe I missed something but I don't recall anyone telling BLS to go there, sure it was the "A" spot that BLS thought might make a good place to take the shot until he realized that there would be a large American flag obstructing his view and he let Johnson know that but Johnson's plan needed BLS to be at that spot at that exact time and nothing was really done to get him there. BLS just ran there when he thought that was the place the shooting would take place. How did Johnson know that BLS would run there and get there at the exact time needed to complete the set up? If BLS doesn't run there then he's watching the motorcade with hundreds of other people and there's no way he gets implicated or if somehow he does there's hundreds of witnesses to provide an alibi.

Seems like quite a coincidence to me and has bugged me from the second I saw the episode. I am enjoying the series but someone please tell me that Johnson, or someone affiliated with him, did something that I missed to get BLS there at that exact time so I can continue to enjoy the show without this hanging over my head ;P

I just thought of something. I remember on the call when BLS was informed that the shooter wasn't where he thought he would be, he did tell the person on the phone that he must be at the "A" spot then took off for there. Maybe that was let Johnson or Payne or whoever where BLS was going and when he would probably be there. Maybe I can convince myself of that and it will let me get back to the show without this hanging over me haha

You didn't pay attention. The spot he went to was the perfect spot, but the CIA put a flag in front of the view to make it impossible to shoot from there. They figured if that wasn't going to be the spot, the other spot must be it.

When BLS realised they didn't capture the sniper at that spot he figured out that the shooter would use exploves to drop the flag and then take the shot from the first "perfect location".

Now the flag hadn't dropped yet and the shot wasn't taken yet, so BLS rushed over there to stop it from happening. The CIA or whoever was behind it anticipated that ofcourse and made sure someone was there to catch him.

Now that is what happend.

Now how the shooter got the explosives there is a whole other story. Which seems like a bit of a plothole to me. How is someone going to attach exploves on a huge ass flag without being caught. And why are they not investigating that? Aren't there camera's or security there? Did anyone see BLS placing the explosives there.

Well I was going to say that some small details I usually look past. But then I saw your post about the flag charges, that's a real good point.
BUT I really like the show so far and I don't sweat some things when the rest is going great.
The casting is wicked, Ryan is doing a wicked job.
