Apologies if this has been asked but I'm watching the show, but am a few episodes behind, and I don't want to search the board too thoroughly. Both the film and the series are based on a book, but would watching the film spoil anything? Thanks in advance!
shareNo, it won't spoil it one bit. The TV show operates in a parallel reboot universe, if you will. There are significant non-spoiler similarities between the movie and the first episode, but that's likely just to draw more of the movie fans in. (It worked for me.) I'm on episode five and could watch the movie without regretting having gone this far.
The tone and nature of the stories differ so greatly, that while I feel like the Bob Lee Swagger characters are very similar, they're somehow different people. And I say that in a good way.
Enjoy the movie for its two-hour sprint, no matter what episode you're at, then come back to the series for a completely different story.

shareNo, not all. But here is a nugget. In this TV series the assassination attempt took place in Seattle. In the movie it's Philadelphia. And in the book it is New Orleans.
