It's been pissing me off. The dude could at least shave and cut his hair, maybe even dye it.
If you are in charge of a TV series where the main character tries to disguise himself you have to conflicting factors.
If the costume and makeup guys don't make enough of an effort to help him disguise himself pesky viewers like you will complain.
But if their efforts are too effective then inattentive viewers or viewers who have some kind of face dyslexia, will complain,
"Hey, where did the hero go? And where did this new guy come from?" I think the usual answer is to add symbolic elements, like sunglasses, or a hat, to symbolically signify the character is disguised, while letting the less attentive viewers still recognize him or her.
