Helmets? lol?
Why does no one wear a helmet in combat? I feel like that would be one of the most important things? It's so stupid and hard to look past this oversight

Yeah the Viking's hair may look cool but in a battle getting struck on the head with something hard is going to HURT - enough to reduce your effectiveness through pain - even if it's not sharp and/or doesn't do serious damage.
shareThat's standard for films and TV shows featuring bladed weapon combat. Either the bad guys wear helmets and the good guys don't, or nobody wears helmets at all.
It's so the camera can see their faces, or at least the goid guy's faces. It'd be suicide in real combat, but it's always filmed this way.
