Such a shame he was killed off as he was the best character for me, I understand the book was probably written this way but I thought he lit up the TV.

Funnily enough, in the novels Skorpa of the White Horse is named Svein of the White Horse. They probably changed it to avoid any confusion with Kjartan's son, Sven.
A brutal character on screen and on the page, to be sure.
Thanks for the info. He suits the name Skorpa better I think. Even the little touch of having blood on his teeth adds to his brutality, as later in battle we see him biting necks etc. Explains why.

If you read the books you will see that lots of Danish/Nordic adversaries come and go. Sven was good but there is scope for plenty of other antagonists to be just as good or even better, should the series continue long enough to cover all or most of the books.
