"Le Vikings shows the brits in a bad light, go to damage control"-series
Disgusting. From the first moment you realize this is classic British propaganda to show their ancestors being heroic and lovable and the "evil foreigners" disgusting.

shareYes, that why The vkings win 99 percent of the battles, and saxon kings portrayed as idiots, perverts or totally immoral. Women are portrayed as much more enlightened and free on the viking side, while on the saxon side like repressed sufferers of abuse...LOL. Come'on!
The headwriter of vikings and the author of TLK has said SEVERAL times they are not fans of Christianity., and its very obvious in both shows,
Humankind cannot bear very much reality. ~T.S. Eliot
How is it different from showing the Vikings in a great light raping, pillaging, and murdering people in Vikings?
I don't understand how you guys can fault anyone for defending themselves from these savage attacks. And I bet you would be the first to fight back, defend your children and loved ones, and get revenge if you were raped, your entire family tortured and killed before your eyes, and you were left destitute as your home was raised to the ground. Disgusting alright but more on who you identify with and who you demonise.
And no, I'm not English. I'm not even a westerner.
The series is based on a series of historical books that existed before "Vikings" ever hit the air.
And which aren't that good, FYI.
Le based vikangz raping my wife and children and enslaving me so based let's portray them with super clean cuts unlike the savages they were so people will buy our viking t shirts.

After watching season one, I am not sue what the role of religion is in this show. Is it superstition, o is it real? How did Iseult know how to save the baby and another would die? Do her pagan gods back her? How did Uhtred break through enemy lines, kill a bunch of people and kill Skorpa without divine intervention? What celestial being helped him do that?
Perhaps the Christians are being a little too defensive about this movie, but I wish the role of religion and the supernatural explained better.
But it's written by ENGLISH writer, Michael Hirst?
Also, who do you think Heahmund was?
I thought it was really balanced. Udda, Alfred, and other members of the Saxons are portrayed as noble, just, wise, brave, and good, while others are villainous. Likewise, the Danes include great men like Ragnar and also horrible ones like Heston. The show does a good job of never assigning all the bad guys to one "team" - Christian or Pagan, Dane or Saxon, Mercia or Wessex, male or female...
share??? Were we watching the same show?
Anglos were presented as weird, weak, superstitious (but ultimately clever I guess) whilst the Vikings were awesome warriors that lived the best 100 life.
Were you trolling?
