Evilcorp involved in alternate dimension/time travel technology?

Are they implying everything that is going in/has gone on is for attaining alternate dimension/time travel technology? That's what that huge machine/thing was inside the Evilcorp power building?

I have no idea. It looked very weird. Not like anything I've seen before regarding power/nuclear whatever.

There was a conversation that implied multiple dimensions when two men were walking alongside the generator/collider looking thing.

You might be right. And if so, what kind of stimulation and is any if it "real"? Are we talking Matrix or Existenz or AI or what? And to what end?
