Could Carol have wielded the Infinity Gauntlet and survived unscathed?
Seeing as even Hulk and Thanos got kind of injured by the Stones, but Carol’s so far pretty invincible.

She,'s actually too powerful to be given a major role in the finale.
If by 'too powerful' you mean they turned her into a dumbass god like Rey, I agree.
shareThat's the best insight i've ever seen anyone give around in the internet. They had to give some part to every single character. There are some normal humans like Hawkeye, Black Widow, Shuri and others in this very epic setting with random creatures and shows of strength many orders of magnitude beyond human limits. Yet they have to give our human heroes their moments. And there are very powerful superhuman beings like Hulk, Thor, Captain Marvel, Dr. Strange. They should be busy with stuff so as to balance the field. For instance, without the gauntlet, Thanos would get easily owned by Stephen Strange.
Anyways, i think they did a good job giving everyone their moments and they managed to deliver the feeling that everyone did try to do their best including the villains.
I've always thought so, that Dr Strange in the MCU would easily beat non-stones/gauntlet Thanos.
However, it always bothered me. After rewatching IW again, I saw that Ebony Maw was stronger and more skilled than Strange in the MCU, at least in the first encounter, even with the Time Stone.
There, Ebony Maw fears Thanos and idolises him. I would assume he would not worship him if he could beat him and be him, Ebony Maw seems quite the narcissistic and puts himself above anyone he thinks less of him or less powerful.
An example: their first encounter in NY with Tony and Strange, which Ebony Maw says something like (I'm paraphrasing), are you (Strange) going to let this animal (Stark) speak for you?
So he kind of has Strange in a higher status than Stark, because of magic I guess but he has Strange lower than him, however, has Thanos ranked higher than him.
Therefore, is really Strange stronger than non-stones/gauntlet Thanos? I am not sure. My guess, in IW Thanos, would win in Endgame Strange would, just because of experience. Stange is quite still learning in IW. Not so much in Endgame.
You are right, it's kind of weird. We saw wizards do incredible things in Dr. Strange movie. An ordinary apprentice may open a portal and send Thanos to the Sun or whatever. I am not sure how Ebony Maw compares, but him working for Thanos can only mean he knows that he can't defeat Thanos, or that he can't survive otherwise.
