During the big battle, why didn't....spoilers

So during the Big Battle, Captain Marvel shows up and grabs the gauntlet with all the stones in it.

Why the heck didn't she immediately zoom into the upper atmosphere, put on the gauntlet, and snap her fingers, thus dusting Thanos and his army? There's no way anybody could have caught her, Thanos' ship was disabled at that point and he didn't have anybody who could have pursued her into outer space and gotten the gauntlet back before she could detonate it.

So why didn't that happen? Instead she wastes time and energy zooming along the ground with all the bad guys shooting at her. Doesn't make sense.

If what happened to Ronan is any indication, her Kree powers wouldn't have been enough to keep the stones from destroying her. Maybe she was trying to get it to Hulkie.

Or maybe she had so little contact with the Avengers that she didn't have any clear idea what they wanted her to do with the stones, she was hardly in the film.

Well, she thought she'd win easily againts Thanos. She didn't even think of using the stones to dust Thanos' army. She would just punch them one by one. And she's pretty confident about it too.

Only a genius philantrophist like Tony Stark would've tought such thing as to use the stones againts Thanos himself.
