As the dust settles...we are seeing a bit of a scaleback.
Deadline posted 358 million domestic just hours ago but as the smoke clears it appears it wasn't quite that big. They did an abrupt edit with little fanfare to reflect the "real" estimate (I.e. of 350 million). A subtraction of over 8 million as Saturday wasn't as strong as previously reported.
Make no mistake these are GREAT numbers, but after a couple of days of mushrooming numbers I wonder if the reporting from here on out always go in the opposite direction and we see sites retracting projections and adjusting them down?
Those first two days were a fever so it's taking sites a bit of time to adjust to numbers that are actually smaller.
It is fun watching them adapt to changing expectations, though.
