He had the Mind Stone and practically handed it to the Avengers in a failed attempt to get the Space stone. Not even realizing that the Time Stone and probably Soul Stone were on Earth too
He traded half his army for the Power stone that was just sitting on some abandoned planet waiting to be taken...and never even got the Power Stone in return. Instead allowing it to fall into the hands of space peace keepers.

I still hate the reveal that the Mind Stone was in Loki's scepter. It seemed to be a very tacked-on plot element and makes no sense.
As for the Power Stone, to be fair, he originally had Ronin send three men to that abandoned planet to get the Orb and it just so happened Starlord got there. Ronin eventually caught up to the Guardians and took the Orb, but he was supposed to give it to Thanos. It's not Thanos' fault Ronin decide to wage war on Xandar instead.
