And the MCU certainly doesn’t need the X-Men. (Screw it, they’re align now like they should be.) However now that the mutants officially belong to Marvel again, first of all: they are home. :) Second of all, so many extraordinary and exciting things can happen as a result of this. And thirdly, although Fox has a few great X-Men movies to their credit... they changed the game with Deadpool and Logan (the upcoming The New Mutants as well)... I’m willing to bet the MCU/Disney can put out consistently good X-Men films—unlike Fox. That said I don’t see a crossover with The Avengers happening immediately, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Anyway, not every Marvel fan will rejoice over this news, especially those who believe Disney won’t go ahead with R rated superhero movies - even though they have multiple distribution companies that produce R rated films. But any way you slice it, this is monumental and long overdue.
