Disney going to be making a killing next year

Black Panther - February 16, 2018
Avengers: Infinity War - May 4, 2018
Han Solo: A Star Wars Story - May 25th, 2018
Incredibles 2 - June 15, 2018
Ant-Man & the Wasp - July 6, 2018

And then a Mulan live action film slated for November (not sure if it will be delayed as they only recently cast the main star).

Wreck-It-Ralph 2 - November 21, 2018
Mary Poppins Returns - December 21, 2018

Avengers Infinity War could be a $2 billion movie. It's possible.

They really know how to make toy movies for eternal children... Perfect for the current global culture... It's brilliant what they do...

But i don't like these kinds of movies...

reply

yes... because children never had stories for them in the past.

reply

No... My point is Disney are perfectly suited to this having specialised in such product for decades... Fairytales and kids movies...

Comicbook movies and Star Wars fits perfectly into this as adults can watch them and indulge in their childhood fantasies, without judgement, yet it is still accessible for children... This is key as adults no longer want to put away childish things...

It's brilliant what they do... The old fans love it... The kids love it... It's very successfull... I can recognise this without liking these movies...

I have a problem when people say that Disney is for kids only. Even worse, when their cartoons are filled with heavy subjects [Bambi is a pretty heavy movie, and so is Snow White and Sleeping Beauty with subjects such as matricide, ripping one's heart out out of contempt, poison induced coma, homicidal greed... ]. It's like people say "if it is cartoons, than it's only fit for kids".... yeah no, not in the slightest.

Disney has what few other studios have: A clear concept, the money and the will.

When it comes to Marvel Movies, it makes sense Disney being the ones who are behind them: They have the money to pull them out; they have a colorful approach which is in line with the colorfulness of comic books [their own comic books also share this] and they try to reach to as many people as possible with their stuff [which makes sense, because if you are selling a product, the success of the product you are selling is also dependent on how many people can consume it]

You may enjoy the movies or not, but they are not for kids only [unless kids now have an interest in International Diplomacy and Politics - see Civil War; International Terrorism - see Iron Man; Mental instability due to trauma - See Hulk; etc]

The kids surely will be busy next year,i see.

They'd better release that damned Incredibles 3D Blu-Ray this summer too. The 3D version of the original was also supposed to hit theaters again for a short run right before the sequel.

That darn Mouse for sure owns this world! There’s no bigger player than him in the world of entertainment. :D

Truthfully, Disney gives us our money’s worth. 2018 will be bigger than ever for them and you can bet I’m looking forward to most of these movies... Cash-grab kids’ stuff to some, superbly-made and brilliant escapism to many others.
