CM is over performing this Easter weekend with a projected 9 Million, bringing its total to 400 Million domestically.

Now thats not really surprising to me as I predicted since its 2nd weekend it would top 400 Million domestically...

but really the only reason this is important is...Its the closing chapter to one of the greatest trolling failures of all time by queen...

to quickly recap, Queen spent 6 months trolling on Captain Marvel claiming it wouldnt top Wonder Woman's Opening Weekend or Its TOTAL box office...

Including The EPIC thread "This aint no Wonder Woman" where queen guaranteed CM wouldnt top WW's 103 M OW and then claimed it might do Ant-Man 2 75 Million numbers.

Queen Then did something truly pathetic and desperately and shamefully tried to change trolling tactics that NIGHT CM came out.....When Projections started coming in that CM was heading for a 145 M+ OW and Queen realizes all his predictions were going to be wrong....Queen in 1 last desperate attempt to continue Spite trolling decided to change trolling tactics and now claim "CM wouldnt beat Wonder Woman's domestic total"...Queen had not mentioned this one time in 6 months prior....

fast forward a month later.....CM is now passing 400 Million and Is GUARANTEED to Top WW's 412 million domestic gross...

again FITTINGLY Bringing one of the Greatest trolling failures of all time to a close...

Its Now Official, Queen was Wrong and LOST in every possible way....6 months of trolling, The Epic, "This aint No Wonder Woman" and Hundreds of replies in the last month claiming "CM wont top WW domestically" has now officially all resulted in to NOTHING but failure and embarrassment for Queen...

This finally chapter is so fitting because Queen truly thought He was going to win....He only went to "WW domestic Total" as a last ditch effort, because It was the 1 box office stat he was 100% confident CM wouldnt beat.

for CM to now finish Queen off In This fitting fashion is the stuff of Trolling Legends...

Captain Marvel went far beyond what anyone expected. The detractors/chuds? They’ll just keep crying and making silly excuses. How sad. XD

This film crushed it and - despite what many unimpressed folks are saying about it (e.g. “it’s no Winter Soldier”... yeah, neither are a dozen of other films from the franchise) to downplay its appeal, the film clearly won over a lot of viewers that it warranted multiple viewings for them (loved it). F’n period.

It's not beyond what box office.com first predicted. They originally predicted over 540 million domestic total.

In all fairness, they routinely overpredict on Disney films. They predicted 360 million domestic for Mary Poppins Returns, for instance. They predicted close to 200 million for Dumbo about a month before it's release as well.

What I don't understand is why are the overstated predictions of Boxoffice.com the reason for your performance scorn at Captain Marvel the movie?

You set the standard for performance for CM as compared to Wonder Woman not Boxoffice.com analysis and tracking. When asked what was your reason or basis for predicting that CM would not perform like WW you wouldn't use Boxoffice.com would you? Or is it that you would suggest the opposite. Why use them as they are notoriously wrong on the over side but that doesn't confirm your reasoning for stating that CM could never, will never or ever, ever beat WW?

This is the disconnect in discussing Boxoffice performance with you. It seems like you just make stuff up. You will state that no one should rely on Boxoffice.com but you offer up nothing as to what data, sites or industry analysts that you rely on and or trust.

BillBrown posted several of the evolving numbers of Boxoffice.com. Those numbers are shown to be changing over time because they start tracking closer as more reliable data comes in to their analysts.

What you do is make a guarantee. Decide you're not wedded to that prediction or guarantee and then change the goal post. WTH!!! Eventually you might say, "Okay, I got it wrong." But why and how did you get it wrong?

Few people here get what it is you're saying which is one reason you come across as trolling.

I was just responding to the poster that said "no one was predicting numbers like this" by saying...well...there was at least ONE site that was.

Look...I could have swore I saw boxoffice.com predicting 540 million at some point but if they didn't...I am mistaken. I have not been able to find anything to back up what I said but it was in no way an attempt to deceive. I may have simply remembered wrongly.

What made you decide to state that CM would be looking at Ant Man like numbers? What was that based on? What are the reasons that you make the predictions that you make?

I get that BillBrown used some specific sites to base his estimates on and sometimes those sites that he has used have been in error. You've even suggested that he stop using those sites and or stop making definitive guarantees. You two are locked in this battle of proving each other wrong. We get that.

But you've never clarified what YOU use to bolster your statements about said movies.

A general lack of buzz surrounding CM in the month's leading up to it's release and the feeling that Wonder Woman had already taken the "event specialness" away from it. Ant-man seemed to be the level of character awareness there was for Captain Marvel albeit that CM was obviously going to have a big role in Endgame.

Ant-man seemed to be the level of character awareness there was for Captain Marvel albeit that CM was obviously going to have a big role in Endgame.

But how where those two gears (Lack of Buzz and Event Specialness) of your feelings major drivers of box office performance? How did you collect or compare buzz for WW versus buzz for Captain Marvel? The other factors driving boxoffice were advanced ticket sales and of course social media awareness. The Marvel brand though is a pretty large gear and has pretty solid currency.

Marvel has really set a floor for their movies regardless of character name recognition and that floor is being raised in each iteration of films and phases. So much so that some people state that films like Ant Man are in some ways Box office disappointments which makes no sense whatsoever.

That part I don't get and or understand. Shazam! would love to have Ant Man numbers even if Ant Man had a larger production budget. Marvel has invested in themselves and their track record demonstrates that the level of production budget assists them in maintaining a high degree of quality and Comic-Book legitimacy. Maybe it is an unwelcome part of the CBM business model but even character based require a certain budget to reach audiences and satisfy audiences.

Joker will be a test of that for DC. Joker will have a low budget, not a lot of special effects but will Warner/DC be able to use that model repeatedly for other characters? Joker has huge name recognition and I think it will be an interesting story. BUT I personally don't care about the Joker as a movie and I have like maybe a 10% interest in seeing that in a movie.

I can really wait and it may be one of the few CBM properties that I fail to buy on DVD/Blu-Ray.

yet they want people to follow their every word and do as they say and vote as they say.

all those scandals, only a fool would trust these huge companies now. And Disney owns almost everything now :-(
they can buy critics, why not also box office numbers?
