Vote: the worst SyFy series in the past 5 years?
I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. The third was almost too painful to watch, but I continued watching in the hopes it would improve in the end. It didn't.
In the first two episodes, I felt I could relate to most of the decisions the characters made. Not so with the third episode. It was as if one ridiculous blunder after the next was being passed off as what normal human begins would do.
How did the dad know what that mayor dude took? Did he look under the sheet when they first arrived? And if he did see the bomb, who the *beep* goes on like it's no big deal? He didn't even question the guy about it "Hey man, uh, what's that bomb for?"
Secondly, when it came time to do or die, who just lets a bomb go off without even trying? Zero survival instinct, which is not human at all.
Who freezes himself, travels 40 years, with the goal of finding a way to save Earth, stays on the planet for 5 minutes, communes with "God" for like 5 seconds, sees a vision of his woman, then says he has to go back to Earth to see his woman -- all without even asking "God" how to save Earth?
Who decides it would be a good idea to yank off the necklace from their dead girlfriend's frozen body, exploding it into hundreds of gruesome pieces?
The main actor is the king of understating every momentous occasion. Karellen: "Your home is no longer home. It has been destroyed." main actor dude, no crying, no surprised, or distraught exclamations, just: "It's all gone? Oh."
They never explain where the children are taken. Nor what the hell the aliens are doing with the animals from Earth they take. They introduce characters, and plot lines they never resolve or show ever again. Ex: The whole connection with the aliens and God, or them being devils. They introduce this counselor lady as being a seemingly important character, and after she sees the couple's son for 1 therapy session, she's never seen again.
Jesus, SyFy network, at this point you know better. Do yourself a favor, and stay away from this show; instead try a SyFy series of better quality, like 12 Monkeys, Into the Badlands, 4400, Lost Girl (minus the last season), Bitten, Defiance or better yet, Firefly or BSG.
Back to my original subject line, what do you think is the worst SyFy series in the past 5 years? You already know my vote...
