Maybe too late to reply. They didn't destroy the earth. It was going to happen anyhow, they were just there to help with the process, and give humanity a few decades of peace beforehand.
shareThey really did destroy it. Earth will be destroyed in millions of years from now when our sun will become supernova. What they really did was kill a child because, what the hell, everyone dies someday.
They act like "God's" angels of death imo.
If you are talking about the children, I assumed they sucked all the energy out of the earth (causing its destruction) because they needed that energy in order to transform/evolve. Although this was my assumption (because I wanted there to be a reason), it was not clear to me, however, that this was the reason it was happening as it could have been just because the children had the power to manipulate energy, so they did. I have not read the novel so perhaps the explanation is clearer in the text.
shareThe reason you didn't get it, I would guess, is because they threw the book out of the window and wrote some other garbage in its place. Read the book, it's a million times better than this crap.
