Too much for a comedy!
This movie was too violent and serious for a comedy. Tarantino can pull that off, but this movie didn't.

Anyway.....too serious? What was serious about this movie?
And the violence was part of the humor. Not to mention commercials and trailers showing how violent the movie was going to be. Did you go in not knowing anything about it?
Have you ever noticed that the people who say "DC is for adults and Marvel is for kids", are kids?
Eddie Murphy can have a much higher body count inhis films and still have folks rolling in the aisles.
