Lame concept, great movie

Who would've thought a movie about a kidnapped cat could be so hilarious? Totally believable, really enjoyable movie. Lots of lol-moments.

To me, it felt like the actors deserve better. The plot was so simple and cliché, seemingly focused on a cat for marketing purpose. I was expecting something kind of mind-blowing because they could have done this in 5 minutes on "Key and Peele" for free.

It fit the same formula as every other comedy I've seen lately:
some misunderstanding like mistaken identity, an *beep* leads them to a gang of violent drug dealers, the two leads take on different identities, celebrity cameo, end up taking a drug (usually on accident) and tripping out, one of the guys struggles with an issue at home while the other is dealing with a romantic dilemma, chase scene or shoot-out, everything is resolved when ten characters happen to be in the same place at the same time in the last scene. It felt like the comedy equivalent of all action movies lately dealing with a blue death ray shooting up into the sky at the top of a skyscraper (Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man, Transformers 3, Michael Bay Turtles, I think Men in Black 3).

I might as well have stayed home and watched 21 Jump Street, Harold & Kumar, Bad Boys 1-2, Ride Along, or any movie starting Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder.

I take these statements as compliments to Keanu. These are acclaimed movies and actors you are mentioning.

I am not sure what you mean by the cat being chosen for marketing purposes. If anything, the cat-story stands for lameness and improbability, which adult audience would find off-putting. This R-rated movie is not directed at kids, either.

Of course it's silly thats the whole point!!
I can't wait to see it!

I saw this flick and liked it, since I was already familiar with Key & Peele's work from their hit comedy show on cable. And, yeah, the film does a good job of sending up the stereotypes that black people have thrust upon them all the time. I thought it was just going to be a spoof of JOHN WICK,since it's called KEANU, but it turned out to be much more than that--as well as a spoof on action movie cliches, which get crazier and crazier as the film goes on. I would recomended it as a good silly comedy with some clever touches and comments on African-American culture along the way. And the cat was cute, too.

Makes no sense they'd go through all that trouble for a cat. Awful premise.

Hah! Remember that Keanu Reeves as John Wick went on a rampage and killed a hundred bad guys over the killing of his puppy. Obviously this movie is a satire/homage to that movie.

Think about it. Duh!

I loved the movie!

I didn't care so much about the plot because I enjoy seeing the two of them so much that I was ready for anything.

These guys are really, really good together.

I hope to see them in other movies.
