British Nonsense

What a waste of time this movie was - and how come the high score - more false reviews I suppose.

Looked good could have been more interesting but the usual British dull as dishwater underdeveloped and uninspiring tosh!

Bit harsh, not the best film but watchable, 10x better than some of the bilge that gets churned out from the US, it is a BBC movie so won't have had a big budget

reply

I enjoyed it.

Doesn't help that the four leads are extremely unappealing characters. I get that the two couples were supposed to parallel each other. Foreign blondes and brunet English hubbies but their depictions were all so dour. After about five minutes with these people, I had no sympathy for any of them. And ironically when that one fell down the stairs, it came across as comical in its staging.

I felt sorry for the baby but then again he got double breast fed... maybe that was the problem with the dude downstairs... a product of nipple confusion pyschosis... all of them utterly forgettable... well depressing ... excellent photo of the pair looking morbid in the boat... made me laugh that did

Was that meant to be funny? Coz the way it was juxtaposed with the previous pic as the faux family with the baby was really comical. I was thinking, who is the photographer they took with them on the 'ritual?' Did he tell them to not smile and 'look morbid'?

Yeah, it looked like a paparazzi photo haha, taken from 200 meters with a long lens!
I actually thought Theresa was giving the finger (but she wasn't).
That was funny indeed, though I doubt it was supposed to be...

how on earth was theresa breast feeding when she wasnt pregnant??

She had just been very pregnant so her milk would have "come in" and she just would have had to continue stimulating her milk production. They certainly seemed committed enough to do that.

"and how come the high score - more false reviews I suppose."

might be, but as far as i know this one got great reviews so far, so my guess would come down to people that have lowered expectations. when it comes to this kind of films, people nowadays are so undemanding, that they will accept even such low hanging fruits like this film as "mindblowing".

The British love dark endings. This is not quite Eden Lake, but it reminds me of that uneasiness after the movie. They like phucked up endings.
