I was hoping against odds that they could have made a worthy effort, but the budget was showing as was the lack of refinement from when Columbia backed the first one. It was pretty sad. I really wanted to like it, but wish it was a bad dream and tomorrow they will release the real sequel.

I wasn't expecting much going into it, but I did find a few parts funny. The overall storyline could of been lot better.

I watched it a second time and warmed up to it a Little more. Still yearning for what could have been. The parody marathon that Spade turned this film in to was just too over the top and distracted him from focussing on writing a credible story. I mean the film had it's moments... few... but I can't say it was a total loss. But it could have been So Much better if they forgot about all the parodies and the time travel silliness and just focussed on him with his new family and being a dysfunctional father. That is a more proven plot to use. Not original, but it would have been much more gratifying that this was. I would love to see them take another crack at it, but fear that is not likely based on this sequel.

I think they should have kept to the main plot and show Joe what the world would have been like if he was not in it, or if he wasn't such a nice guy, or focused on being rich instead of enriching the lives of others.

It seemed they were doing parodies for the sake of parodies instead of it working for the overall story.

I watched JD2 up to the loggers lunch break. Then that was it. I warn all of you JD1 fans do not watch, as there is no good to come from it. Just downright bad...not one funny scene....not a single one.

That, this, whatever this was trying to be, literally made me very sad. I am a true JD fan. I wish a sequel would have never been considered. Just saw actors looking for a paycheck. Not one funny, not one non revolting scene. Its negative in all aspects. Except knowing Brandi is still hot. But ,, I feel like my dog died.

Agreed. Dumb and Dumber 2, while no means a great film, still had at least a few funny moments and lines. This film is unwatchable. I never thought the first Joe Dirt was a classic in any way, but it did have a few funny scenes. I couldn't make it more than half way through this pile of crap. No one asked for, nor wanted, a sequel to Joe Dirt. I hope Christopher Walken got a nice paycheck for his role in this, because he should feel embarrassed. Just as I felt embarrassed for Pacino when he did that Jack & Jill movie with Sandler, and how I feel sorry for De Niro doing movies like Dirty Grandpa with Zac Efron. Just truly sad that such amazing actors reduce themselves to such horrendous trash like this.
