Still like the second film the best

After seeing The Purge: Election Year, I still think that The Purge: Anarchy is the best of the 3.

The Purge (the first film) was just alright, I liked the whole purge idea and premise, but it was still some what boring in my opinion. The Purge: Election Year (the third film) felt very over the top and insane. I felt like I was on acid watching it.

The Purge: Anarchy (the second film) was a good balance between the first and third. It was out in the open unlike the first film but not over the top like the third. It felt way more realistic and had more relatable characters that you cared about. So over all I still like Anarchy the best. Thoughts?

100% agree!!! I liked the first one, I found it tense and also loved the whole purge idea. The second one was by far the best, I like them when they're about normal people - the couple getting stranded when the purge began was exactly the sort of thing I want to see. I also want to see people SCARED! Not just ninjas and heroes gunning purgers down like it's nothing. I want to see the terror that any normal, everyday person would feel! I think they go too far to create heroes in these movies.

This last one was just not good in my opinion. I agree, it was unrealistic, and I also didn't give a stuff about the characters. Anarchy was the best by far - I'm hoping when they do a 4th, it'll be about normal people again and they will be scared!

This one was an entertaining bad movie, but the 2nd was far more tense and at least a little more realistic. Yeah, agreed.
