Twin Peaks In a nutshell:

Atom Bomb test makes creature spew insect eggs, a bunch of greasy man in a phantasmagorical gas station walk around and a floating head called Bob into our universe.

Insect goes into little girl's mouth and we never get to hear or see about them ever again

DoppelCoop has a son of a Audrey rape called Richard. He gets him killed and that's that.

There is something about a Linda that is connected to Richard. But we never get to see her to throw any kind of stone at her.

Some random guy with a glove is the one that vanquishes Bob... because, reasons. Nevermind making Cooper or Laura vanquish him for good. That would be too mainstream, I guess.

Cooper, in the mother of all cop outs, goes back in time to save Laura from being murdered by her Bob possessed father and wants to take her to her mother's place... exactly where her possessed father lives. Meanwhile, Cooper looses her near the White Lodge entrance where she vanishes... that's not her mother's place ether.

For some odd reason, despite Cooper saving Laura from being murdered, her possessed mother still is a) possessed and b) crazy in the present time and goes bat shit crazy on her daughter's photograph for no reason whatsoever given that Laura's murder didn't occur.

Diane, was kept safe as a eyeless monkey noise making woman in the White Lodge (?) because apparently DoppelCooper[in principle] wanted her dead [so said by Andy].... although we never get that he wants to kill her neither would it be relevant to him. He could have killed her a long time ago when he had her Tulpa made, but he did not.

What else did I forget?

reply

You forgot that Richard was Audrey's son, not Diane's.

thanks. Fixed.

It's a little bit like when you have to explain a joke it loses all its humor.

I think it's impossible to "nutshell" twin peaks. We have searched for answers all season. The finale gave us answers alright, but they were answers to questions we hadn't been asking. You won't find these answers on the internet. They can only be found by looking deep within yourself and the world that surrounds you.

Once again, twin peaks has outdone itself. I am so grateful to David Lynch and Mark Frost for giving us this beautiful gift.

Twin Peaks has always been, and will always be, more than just a storyline.

reply

I was being sarcastic. The idea being that a lot was left hanging in the air with no apparent resolve. Such as Jowday or whatever the creature is called.

reply

You are one dedicated Lynch fan, I mean he could a take a shit on a canvas and it may look like a Frog and you may still think it's a "beautiful gift"...Lol

I mean come on man, you got to at some point stop being the FANBOY and start questioning what you are watching. You really think this Season 3 was planned and thought through for a show that was cancelled in just two seasons?. No, I think Lynch just went with the trend of the revival of old movies coming back, which for the most part none of them have been really a success case in point: i.e. Jason Bourne).

I wont deny I liked some of Season 3 and even the ending but it was the most incoherent 18 hours of Lynch's entire career, none of the pieces fit together, he used the old cast as just props to lure us into a maze, a maze where you were lost into a maze of narratives that had nothing to do with each other or the story. Narratives like Shelly's daughter and her troubles with her crazy loser husband that went no where, Shelly's involvement with a kingpin drug dealer, that also went no where?. What was all that time wasted on Benjamin Horne and his Pot head brother Richard lost in the woods?. Yes we all enjoyed Audrey dance, but you miss the point that it had NOTHING to do with the story or the narrative line, which is something almost all hard core Lynch fans on this board kept defending and tend to over look and accept at verbatim as the Lynch Gospel being incoherent auteur and acceptable to them, that to me is when you have become a FANBOY.

Even the ending the only thing the article in the Hollywood reporter could conjure up that Cooper ended up in the alternate future, so all that was for nothing?..

reply

Way too much time spent with characters that went absolutely no where and are uninteresting.

That episode 8 though... that was pure gold.

That's uncle jerry to you birdman, get it right. You are wrong on all accounts. Think bigger. You talk to much.

reply

Lol..trust me if you check all your little comments on TWIN PEAKS on this site you will find that its you talks TOO MUCH, in fact a great deal even when its not invited. OK Uncle Jerry...Lol
You people take these shows seriously and its almost hilarious as to how you get upset over something as someone's else opinion that you have never met or will ever meet in a life time, but that is the power of social media which is taken a lot of valuable time of people with a lot of time on their hand.

reply

You came at me bro. I was just giving a salute to the show. If you checked all my little comments then why are you calling me a lynch fan and a fanboy. You're still wrong.

reply

I am so tired of hearing people talk about Lynch shitting on a canvas. It has been said over and over again. This show was so much more. The ending of this was no different than what most horror films do; they set us up for a happy ending and then pull the rug out from under us which usually means that there is more to come(season 4). From the beginning I never wanted everything answered. I love the discussions that are going on now among fans. If Lynch and Frost ended it with everything tied up there wouldn't be all these theorizing and, more importantly, an chance for more Twin Peaks. The haters just might kill that possibility if the angry fans make Showtime change their mind about continuing it. I thought the ending was great, but at first I was a little let down, but on pondering it, I realize that the ending was just great.

BirdmanT7 - Let's rumble at the New Beverley. Does Tarantino own any Lynch films? It will be fun.

One of the funnest nights of my life was going to so _Blue Velvet_ in a revival theatre (i.e. not first run, but it was still circa 1994, so a while back). Packed house, every member of the audience totally into it.

I enjoyed Twin Peaks season 3. I'm not in a place where I'm really critiquing it though. It appeals to me more than 90% of other cinema/TV, and I suppose that's enough.

Episode 17 was really the proper finale to the season. Episode 18 exists to add a new element for potential continuation, but was set up all the way back in episode 1. That strikes me as, erm, you know, planned and thought through.
