So did I get that right, close to the end of the movie he had to buy a Volvo cause Saab didn't exist anymore? That was too much for him, opinions?

His wife was the first and the last. Same with SAAB. Buying another brand would be cheating.
His neighbor was competitive buying Volvo models.
Both brands are Swedish and Ove realised he should accept the neighbor choice. When Rune bought a German car (BMW). Ove didn't accept.
I didn't notice Ove buying a Volvo. I gather that the new owner of Saab quit using the Saab name in 2014, which is maybe so recent that it didn't affect the script.
