Why remind us of surviving villains in the end?

I was pretty much on board with this movie until the very end. Always frustrating when a movie drops the ball in the last 30 seconds. Why were we shown the initial killer in the end with his buddy cleaning the house? Went nowhere and just reminded me the movie had plot holes. That was enough for me to write the whole thing off. Don't want it on my shelf now. Oh well.

I don't understand the gripe. What's exactly wrong with it?

I saw that as two separate shots. Worm was shooting heroin with the friend that took him away from the crime scene. I supposed they'd either overdose if they found out their gang was dead, or eventually end up on Skid Row or worse. A pretty sad end.

The other shot, of the mohawked (?) friend vacuuming was a bookend for his earlier earnestness. Remember, he even gave this band his cut of the meager $6 each gate receipts. So he was really OK guy. He said near the beginning that he had to clean up because he expected Daniel and his GF to come... he might have thought they were escaping the gang together, whereas Emily was also running from Daniel... or planned to. So he deserved the peaceful end... which I thought was visually humorous. The rough-tough looking punk guy pushing that vacuum so fastidiously.
