Dogs like that are trained to be that way. A dog doesn't have the emotional capacity to commit malicious murder. It isn't even murder. It's a dog.

I'd have shot it too. It'd be a more emotional decision in that situation than you're making it out to be. Also, I don't know the dog isn't going to get up and charge me.

Didn't they try to? If we're thinking of the same scene (I'm talking about the one at the end after they killed Patrick Stewart and were sitting by the van) weren't they both aiming their guns at the dog and dry firing?

I think they were just out of ammo, if I remember correctly.

They used all their bullets and shells on finishing off the last of the neo Nazis. They tried shooting it, but it ignored them to go lay down with its dead Nazi master.
