yes, i am a girl who admittedly likes kinda nerdy guys. but nerdy as in: quirky, kind, goofy, likes silly things and not afraid to admit it, not judgmental, you can be silly around them because they are silly. maybe they like *some* cliche nerdy stuff like starwars, or role playing games, or something.... but I just like guys who are themselves. Period. they dont have to have 6 packs. and i am actually not a fan of gym rats or frat guys who are those typical no personality judgmental and superficial pricks. i tend to like artsy guys, nerdy/smart guys, whatever.... more than ur typical "jock"
BUT OMG Gus is the EFFING WORST. I am not too superficial, a guy can be scrawny if I find him attractive. But his looks just get worse, and worse and worse because of this guys effing awful personality. He doesn't treat girls with respect. And its not because hes that cute "derr I dont know what im doing because i actually dont know a lot about love and relationships because im shy" or something. He has been in long term after long term relationship. He gets ass from random girls (somehow) Must be his amazing looks charm and personality???? Um what? So no,he has no effing right or justification for why he treated Micky like absolute shi* after claiming he is so into her, having sex with her, and then turning into those cliche a-hole guys who have sex with u and then turn into an a-hole but claim "no im a nice guy because im a nerd" um no. I have met tons of "nerds" who are complete effing a-holes. People are under the impression that all nerds are these lovable teddy bears. Gus actually portrays a pretty realistic version of lots of guys out there who have that "nerd" label when really they are just whiny pathetic jerks.
He has a cool job, he writes, he plays bass and sings, he has lots of friends, hes into cinema and has quirky interests like magic. He is a tutor.
If it weren't for his awkward ass personality and the way he dresses and his nerdy strange looks and mannerisms you just described the average guy. But he is whiney and annoying and treats girs like shi*
I dont even know why he wants a gf as he mentioned to his therapist that once he discovered online porn he didnt see sex as nessacary. So hes also *that* guy. That pervy weird guy who is addicted to porn.
Mickey isn't the best character either. I can see why Gus got irritated with her on their first date, because she was ragging on it the whole time. She cussses a lot and has no manners. She said his band thing was stupid then showed up without telling him. Used a vibrator the first time they were having sex to get off.....without maybe explaining "sorry sex doesn't give me orgasms" and she turned away from him, making him feel useless in that moment. She is an alcoholic, can be selfish, rude, and honestly isn't the most likable person either.
Either way, Gus had sex with her. Made a big deal out of liking her. Then blew her off completely with NO EXPLANATION as if thats ok. When he knows better.
I cannot watch this show anymore. It's not funny. The first episode made me realize this but I kept watching out of bordem. I started to sorta root for them because it seemed like they had chemistry. And she dates EPIC LOSERS who are ugly AF and weird and awful to her----so yeah a guy like Gus might seem like a great guy in comparison but they did seem to click. But now that the characters keep getting more unlikable with each episode, keep treating each other poorly and Gus being who he is thinking he can treat women that way.
Eff no. Just effff nooo lol.
Judd A---- stop making rude, annoying, ugly, whiny, nerdy and/or stoner guys so "likable" and making it seem normal and ok for them to get all these girls and then toss them aside. Sometimes in life it's realistic. But usually those guys at least have redeemable qualities.
Gus has none.

When it first started, I didn't think much about his looks, other than that he had a huge nose. But the more it went on, I thought, This is the ugliest effin guy I've ever seen in front of a camera. And started to pick apart everything, including his stupid little mouth and his yellow Chiclets teeth. Because he is truly awful. And an idiot (that writers' room scene).

LOL same!!! ew that mouth/teeth. and yeah i wanted to crawl through the tv and punch him during that meeting. and that scene wasn't funny because it was far too over the top. even Gus who is pretty much an idiot, is smart enough and somewhat normal enough to know acting that way will get him fired. and he'd never be that.... i dont wanna say bold because bold usually implies a good action of bravery.. but that ballsy i guess? or have the nerve to do that? ridiculous. i was so glad he got fired. then pissed he even got his "teaching job" back.

Yeah, I NEVER call people ugly or insult peoples physical appearences but oh my GOD I felt because Gus is just so *beep* and WHINY and PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, HOSTILE and plain *beep* BORING that he just looked worse and wose and WORSE and what the HECK would ANY girl see in him? and I like nerdy guys! I like any guy that's nice and decent and I have things in common with, but there's PLENTY of guys like him, who THINK they're nice and superior but DAMN they're just *beep* I dig his cute friend though that lives in his building. That guy's pretty fine - but i don't at ALL understand why he'd be friends with him.
