Episode 1 was, in my opinion, the weakest episode, but it's a necessary one I seriously appreciated nonetheless going into the second one, as episode 2 wouldn't have had the same magic without it.
One needs to adopt the right perspective and consider the series as one long movie rather than self-contained slices that merely present comedic fodder within the usual sitcom structures and developments. The episodes are uneven if taken individually, but there's not one low point and no inconsistency when one weighs and considers all of season 1 together--it's a friggin' great series!
That said, I find your whole comment beyond ridiculous and just patently wrong. Sure, this isn't your usual superficial, highly-polished TV world populated by 2D sex symbols living enviable lives and facing slapdash, easily-resolved problems and unequivocal situations, but it's doubly great and refreshingly pleasant because of it, and succeeds because the dialogue and acting is truly rich and wonderful.
As far as you versus "Love", it seems clear to me that you're the problem, not the series. You obviously let institutionalized forms dictate your expectations, don't have the patience the show requires, and can't appreciate well-written and nuanced characters and layered authenticity over in-your-face gloss and quick laughs highlighted by a laugh track to make sure you know what's funny. IMO, this is an intelligent series, and you can't handle it.
Your assumption that the production is total crap without even giving it a real chance, or your inability to realize that perhaps it's just not for you or it's your own failings that bar you from enjoying it, do not warrant a rating of 1; all this does is mark you as an entitled fool that lacks any real judgement!
A 1! Seriously?! You can't even take technical aspects into consideration, which alone place it well above 1.
Sigh. People like you are so irritatingly vapid and illogical...
Ignorance is bliss... 'til it posts on the Internet, then, it's annoying.
