Well, it's watchable. Above average in terms of the other stuff out there now.
A group of semi likeable characters go to an island cabin for a weekend vacation. One of them brings some drugs that happen to be tainted with a bioweapon virus that turns them into rabid zombies. There is a subplot of who created it. And some quasi political stuff.
It wasn't that bad. Could have used alittle more characterization on all the characters. But it's kind of worth the watch. I gave it 5 stars for keeping me watching.
You gotta be kidding me. This movie is garbage. Bad actors. Excruciatingly bad characters and dialogue. There's only about 20 minutes of "zombies" in it and it's not nearly a good enough 20 minutes to justify sitting through all the rest. The plot behind it all is completely goofy nonsense. This is the kind of movie that's going to die a lonely death at the bottom of the list of crappy forgettable horror movies on Netflix.
Right there with you, buddy. People sh*tting on this one don't know how lucky they are if they truly believe this is a worse as it gets!
I personally could have done without the political subplot and I believe not knowing whether it was the drugs or the "happy juice" what did them it would have made for some good drama had they slowed down the apparition of the side-effects a bit and, fine, the acting wasn't exactly stellar, but the idea of the infected becoming themselves again after the effects of the drug pass was both genius and terrifying. I honestly felt for the patient zero Highlander there at the end.
Final Girl and the BF were nice enough, and I almost lose it when I thought Bash was going to bring the dog without a leg to Carnage Island- I was so happy he left him home I developed an instant liking to the guy. More character development would have been nice, sure, but I have seen so much worse from films with a budget, I am willing to give them a pass.
Man, that dog was the cutest! I knew he wouldn't be part of the plot. Can you imagine the outrage if they killed off a three-legged dog! I would also say that it was not the happy juice because Final Girl had a shot but nothing happened to her. And totally agree regarding the idea of the infected becoming themselves again after the effects of the drug pass (although Burned Guy would have been in quite a lot of pain on that boat and he wasn't showing that).
