Also any of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies, since talking about Freddy made the people susceptible to have him enter their dreams and kill them in real life. That was why the parents didn't talk about Freddy Kruger, so the next generation would know nothing about him (this was in at least 2 of the franchise premises, including the original movie).

I recall the parents didnt want to talk about him because they had killed him and didnt go to jail. the mom didnt want nancy to talk about him because she knew he was dead didnt have any idea he was a supernatural entity and just thought nancy was going crazy and making it worse by bringing him up
Now nancy thought if she didnt fear him and she turned her back on him it would take his power. But I think for the original kids on elm street ... because of the deal he made with the dream demons those kids were just fudged.
