Scene with the widow (SPOILERS)

Ducked out to use the bathroom about 2/3 of the way through the movie. Of course, I arrived back just in time to hear Elliot saying "and THAT'S how we beat him!" (or whatever it was he said).

So what was the big reveal? The only real change to his approach was to assume that everything he was seeing and hearing was a hallucination. Was that what he learned at the widow's place?

I *think* he figured out that if you could tell yourself that what you were seeing wasn't real that you could best him. Like when she was on fire and he told himself it wasn't real... and it wasn't.

She didn't tell him anything because she never knew what it was. Her husband spared her by never telling her.

In the B roll of the movie the Widow character played by Faye Dunaway told the main character Elliot that the only way to stop what was going on is to "kill everyone that you told his name to, and then kill yourself." The B roll video has been up on this board for a month or so.
