Are you kidding me?

So..at first when seeing the trailer, it felt pretty clear that this film was going to be rated R. When I found out it was rated R, I was excited and hoped that the movie will be good. Hmm... a few days later I find out that it was re-rated because the studio didn't like it rated R. This scared me, but I was later terrified when I found out that it was rated PG-13. Oh shoot. It is highly possible that this movie will suck. I KNOW, not all PG-13 horror movies suck. Ouija: Origin Of Evil was great. But this was shot as an R rated movie! Can they just not pay attention to the box office? They lose the core audience by doing this.
I hope that this will be a good movie, but I highly doubt it.

Plus it's coming out in January. It had potential, but it's probably crap.

reply

I know! The trailer just screams r-rated! Now we will get a watered down version because not enough adults see horror movies anymore, so the studios feel like they have to pander to teenagers, who (lets face it) are mostly annoying in the theater

reply

Adults don't see horror movies anymore because the studios pander to teenagers. It's a vicious cycle that keeps getting repeated that started back in 2010. Teenagers don't see many horror movies anymore because they want to be treated as adults, yet as soon as they get to be adults they don't want to watch the horror movies because they're being pandered to teenagers.

reply

Meh,i guess i will avoid it then.

reply

It's actually a decent enough movie. I'd suggest you go see it. Take your point on the rating, I thought the very same thing.

reply

Ok, I'll try to to find a time to see it. I have heard some good things about it, so, why not?

reply

Just wait for the unrated version to come out in a couple months. I'm sure you can find other movies to watch, or other things to do until then. Complaining about PG-13 when you're an adult is ridiculous.

I'd probably expect to do other things. I just wanted to see another good horror movie, but I think I'm at the wrong place. Oh, and you might find the answer to my ridiculous complaining by reading this. I'm actually not an adult. I'm what you might expect, a teen.

You're also probably thinking that I shouldn't be able to watch this movie if it was R. Well, as I've said before, I feel like studios make movies that wouldn't go beyond PG-13 standards because they want more money in the box office. They don't really care if you like it or not, they're just happy that you paid to see the movie. There are some cheap R rated horror movies, but I feel like most of them are better than what PG-13 movies are offering. So, I think that even though it might have gore and stuff that might be innapropiate for me, I'd enjoy it more than a movie aimed for teens that's not very scary.

Now you know how I felt about the first Aliens vs. Predator movie. (Also the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie.)
