shareSaw it at 8PM and there was maybe 4 other people in the theater (impending ice storm had a lot to do with low turn out). Trailer for RINGS, RE:FINAL CHAPTER, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 2, and THE SPACE BETWEEN US.
I don't know what the other people thought of the movie but I... I wanted to like this movie. I wanted to like this movie so very, very bad... but it just wasn't that good. And it wasn't even as much the story as the terrible special effects and editing. And the audio was... it was just so poorly done. I don't know what else to say right now... I'm still mulling it over in my head. I had such high hopes for the concept.... damn.
I thought it looked like complete *beep* as i assume most people did, due to the fact that there were 5 other people scattered through the 1020pm showing.
I am shocked at how much i was actually able to enjoy it. Its not NEARLY as bad as it looks, which i think is due mostly to the director, who does a good job of creating a creepy and foreboding atmosphere.
Surprisingly not bad movie. not fantastic or anything of that sort. but not utter *beep* either
The movie is not released yet! Only showings have been as advanced preview's. Hence you are a liar attempting to trash this movie. Go on, tell us which theater was screening this at 10pm and where the theater is located so we can look it up and judge for ourselves whether or not you are a blatant liar...
shareDangerMan, I haven't seen it, but yes, there were advance screenings, AMC hosted some on Jan 10.

I'm not a liar, jerk. My theater was Goodrich Forum 8 in Columbia, MO. Look it up and I'll wait for your apology.
shareI saw this last night on the Thursday preview screening at 10:45 PM at the Regal E-Walk 13 on 42ns Street in Times Square in NYC. It was an empty house, less than 30 people there. No one was impressed in the least, people were muttering about how crappy it was.
I didn't see all the trailers but there was a new one I don't remember, with someone famous in it about knowing everything that was going on in the world. Also Rings was one of the trailers. Oh, and A Cure For Wellness. Don't remember if there were anymore.
The movie was the kind of bad where you don't know why it was bad, except it was not even scary at all. You didn't care much for the characters and it was just there, on the screen, being a movie with nothing that interesting at all. Considering they bumped it down from an R rating they obviously thought they would get more tickets sold with more audience able to see it, but they were very wrong about that.
11:50 AM
Five people, including me --- three singles and one pair of women (one of whom had her phone out the entire time). One of the five people showed up 25 minutes into the movie. Not sure if they were just incredibly late or theater hopping or something.
One trailer (my local theater chain is really good about this) --- Annabelle 2
The friend of the idiot who had her phone out the entire time exclaimed that the movie was "really good" as they exited. That was the extent of crowd reaction.
bump
shareJust saw it at 11:45 AM, Sunday morning. 12 people in the theatre. The trailers were 'The Belko Experiment', 'The Space Between Us' & 'The Circle'. I enjoyed it and considered it sufficiently spooky. I think the whole audience liked it. No talking, and a couple of small shouts when there was a jolt in a scene.
sharesaw it last night (saturday) at an 8:40 showing. probably about 2/3 full, it was busier than i expected. cannot remember the trailers for the life of me. audience reaction was pretty fun - first big jumpscare got a good scream out of everyone but after that there was lots of laughing at how ridiculous it was. i think by the last half hour everyone in the theater had stopped taking it seriously (myself included.)
