What was the point of Mon El returning if he and Supergirl can't be together?
Or is wife gonna die at some point?

They might be planning a break up. In the comics Imra Ardeen (Saturn Girl) is married to Garth Ranzz (Lightning Lad)

That's what these shows do.They like to throw as many obstacles as they can at their couples.There's no drama in happy endings.It's why Barry's sitting in a jail cell right now.
