My thoughts on Tyler Hoechlin...

What a great Superman! He's this era's Superman. Sorry Henry Cavil, but this Superman is the way Superman should have been in the last two movies.

Henry's Superman was depressing and broody. Nothing wrong with those qualities...if you're playing Batman/Bruce Wayne or Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Angel, the vampire with a soul. But this is Superman and that stuff doesn't work for him, damn it!

He needs to bring hope and be confident with a dash of humility. He should be a gentleman and a complete bad ass at the same time. He should know he's powerful but doesn't view himself above us. And as Clark he needs to be klutzy and awkward, yet charming. Tyler brought that all to the table.

Tyler is the Superman of this era and a Superman children and adults can both look up to. So hats off to the writers and the actor. You guys did a brilliant job. 

My thoughts, he did better then I expected, still is a bit too close in age to kara for my taste (the jokes shes supposed to look younger)

I like Cavil, I think he was horribly wasted in B v S but my opinion of that train-wreck I leave for other threads and my review

I don't think Henry was the worst thing about BvS, IMO, that was Jessie as Billionaire Joke...eerr..m I mean as Lex Luthor.

Apart from that horrendous costume and malnutrition, Tyler's Superman is way way better than Cavill's so far, yea. As for the age, well, you know, Kryptonian DNA, they age well, in some cases, biologically immortal.

I agree completely! Great portrayal, much more like the traditional Superman I know from the old comics, and the old movies/shows! Now, if we could just get the guy some trunks...

People who defend Ghostbusters 2016 in that film's message board would disagree....

I disagree. I think this is a corny holdover from the old Christopher Reeve films. I prefer Clark like in TAS: mild-mannered, quiet & generally "out of the way". More like keeping a low profile. Though I did like that Clark had his klutzy moment on accident with the person in the elevator. That further humanizes the "godlike" figure. I think the best way to make Superman relatable is to show him BEING a normal man. Not acting like one. He doesn't have to have a *beep* life & be downtrodden. Just show him like he was presented in this episode.

I understood that Snyder tried to imbue the films with a sense of realism & seriousness concerning such a thing as discovering you're an alien & have to deal with a paranoid, 21st century world, I'd rather them do like Tyler's Superman: a strong-willed, positive figure who at least attempts to ease the world's discomfort by being friendly. This was sorely needed in Batman v Superman. I too really liked Tyler's Superman. He's the Superman Cavill should have been in BvS.

So basically what we got 10 years ago with Brandon.

We've come full circle and really accomplished nothing.

I kinda liked Cavill's Superman, though you are right he wasn't anything as I expect him to be like what Superman and Clark Kent is suppose to be. But still times are different these days (this is from what I read) seems like people like darker heroes.

I like all that you describe Superman.

People like good writing and good character development, be it dark or colorful. Dark suits some heroes, specially with Bats and the Devil of hell's kitchen. Not with Superman, unless it's Injustice.

Henry is great but needs better material. Tyler is good too in his brief appearance. I had a big grin when the music started playing in the episode and his goofiness.
