The oldest cliche in the book...........*spoilers*

I thought 'The Monster' was a very solid little film considering it's budget and it was genuinely tense, atmospheric and scary, but I just couldn't believe they would use the oldest horror cliche to ever exist which was the age old, 'Let me go back and check to see if the creature is actually dead', and then....*BAM* one last jump scare. I honestly couldn't believe they would use such a cheap trick in what is a great little creature feature.

At least it didn't come back to life in full kill-mode and force the protagonist to fight it all over again like so many horror monsters do.
