Bad choice of title; should've chosen something more consisent in tone

Sure Conner was a pop star, but the movie should not have been called that . They should've chosen a title that mirrored the tone of the movie. I read that the original title of the movie was Conner4real which is a much better title that reflects the tone of the movie more accurately. It gives you a sense that it's a white guy using silly slang adopting a faux gangsta persona similar to Justin Bieber. Calling the movie "Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping" sounds like a joke or a reference to another movie entirely. I never felt like that title properly captured the essence of this movie. Seeing as how this is a Lonely Island movie, they should've chosen something more subversive, provocative or sillier that mirrored the ridiculousness of Samberg's character.

It's supposed to play like a mockumentary....so the title is in fact a joke. It's satire.

You mean like a reference to Justin Bieber: Never Say Never?

I agree. If I only heard the title, I would assume this was a spoof movie not a mockumentary. Something like Dance Flick or other Wayans' Brothers' movies. However, if you know Lonely Island or at least Adam Samberg, then you know what kind of comedy you're going to get. So while it's clear it's a spoof of Bieber and popstar self-made documentaries (they even had a scene about that in the movie), I think they could have come up with a more clever title.
