Why isn't Emma Stone credited?

Emma Stone is in this movie for about 10 seconds in the "Turn Up the Beef" video, but she isn't credited as being in this movie. What's up with that?

reply

Maybe she didn't want to be. Timberlake isn't credited either.

But they should still be listed on imdb with "(uncredited)" next to their name. You know, like the thousands of other uncredited roles listed on imdb.

reply

Maybe they just wanted to keep it off the net for a bit so the cameos would be more surprising.

A cameo role or cameo appearance (/ˈkæmioʊ/; often shortened to just cameo) is a brief appearance or voice part of a known person in a work of the performing arts, typically unnamed or appearing as themselves. These roles are generally small, many of them non-speaking ones, and are commonly either appearances in a work in which they hold some special significance (such as actors from an original movie appearing in its remake), or renowned people making uncredited appearances. Short appearances by celebrities, film directors, politicians, athletes or musicians are common. A crew member of the show or movie playing a minor role can be referred to as a cameo as well, such as Alfred Hitchcock's frequently performed cameos.

Why are you freaking out about this? She's in it. She's not credited. Nothing crazy. If you care so damn much why haven't you personally updated IMDb? Jackass.

1. Not freaking out. Just thought it was weird, especially as I looked around the message boards and noticed no one else had mentioned it. Seems someone would've said something.
2. I don't remember if her character had a name, so I'd rather not try to submit info without all the facts.
3. Submitting the information to update an imdb page doesn't really do much half the time. I've submitted the information for Kate Mara's role in the 2004 film "Peoples" 3 times in the last 2 years and it still hasn't been updated.
4. It's not really a secret. The song featuring Emma has been on the internet for a week now and is on the soundtrack album.
4. a) After seeing the movie, I thought it was kind of random that she was performing a song. I came on here to make sure it was her and, when I didn't see it listed among her credits, I was looking through the credits of the film trying to figure out who I could've possibly mistaken for her. Then I Googled it to see if I was just wrong and found that, oh, everyone knows she performs that song. Hence why I made a post about it in the first place.
4. b) Also weird to note that no one has updated the "Soundtrack" listing for this film either.
5. No reason to be hostile. When I saw people saying she's uncredited in the movie and giving me the definition of a cameo, I figured I might've not phrased my question properly and figured I'd clarify what I meant.

... Seems like you're freaking out about it.

I think your best option at this point is to turn this matter over to the police.

reply

I was thinking it has something to do with like the Screen Actors Guild. You have to be in the movie for X amount of time, and get paid to be credited? Idk I may have made that up...

reply

I don't think so. Many people who appeared for only .5 seconds are credited. They're probably uncredited to keep things a surprise.

planes crash., and apparantly clowns kill.

reply

Probably because she only appears for 10 seconds.

Anyway, I love those uncredited cameos. I love it when some random star turns up in a really small, almost unrecognisable part.
