Who should have been Casey Jones?

That was the biggest miscast for Casey Jones. They picked Stephen to play to the crowd that likes Arrow. Who cares that he does not look like the street punk vigilante he should be. Stephen was terrible in the role and he only wears the mask once in the whole movie. So typical for a Michael Bay produced movie.
My pick would have been Norman Reedus from Walking Dead. At least he looks like the original Casey Jones actor from the 90s and has long hair.

Reedus would've worked. I always pictured Jared Padalecki.



You know what. Reedus would have been cool as Casey Jones if written properly.

I'm not sure which came first with TMNT2. Did the cast SA because he fit their version of Casey Jones. Or did they alter Casey Jones to fit the actor?

I don't know if Reedus would have fit this version of Casey Jones...

After watching season 2 of True Detective, I wanted Taylor Kitsch to play Casey.

Kitsch would have been cool, but Reedus is too old, and I don't see him. I personally could have thing Amell could have been fine, it was more the writing/story that ruined it for me. The original live action Casey was pretty perfect btw.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wanted Taylor Kitsch to play Casey. I haven't seen any of True Detective but do you think it'll help his career? I loved him as Gambit in his whole four minutes in Wolverine and I even really liked him in both John Carter and Battleship (yep, even Battleship), but it seems like the poor guy just can't catch a break.

I did like Stephen Amell though, but I'd've preferred Taylor Kitsch.

Reedus would have been interesting. He definitely could bring that same ruggedness that Elias Koteas brought in the 90's. I like Stephen as an actor but you're right, he just doesn't have the punk thing going and everytime he bitched about wanting to be a detective he comes off less and less like the character he's trying to play.

^a relativly unkown actor, but I think he would have been right as Casey Jones.

You have an actor that can't bring the character to life and then you have just a plainly bad written character for the plot. It's just recipe for disaster and that's what we got. You got Bay'ed son.

Amell was fine as Casey.

Here's the thing with the character, this was Casey's origin story, he wasn't fully Casey Jones in this movie like the originals. In the 1990 movie, when he shows up he's already full on Casey.

C.M. Punk should have played him.
