"Y'all got jokes"?
Seriously? This is the best writing they could come up with?
Ya Mama.
If you've got a better line I like to see how you rewrite it....
To me, it's a good line mostly because Gary Anthony Williams knows how to deliver.
Why would I rewrite it? Just wouldn't use such stereotypically ethnic language for a fictional cartoon character.
shareHow would you expect a giant man pig with a bright purple mohawk and sunglasses to talk?
shareYeah but they actually showcased it in the trailer like it was some genius line ..that's supposed to be like where you show off some cool sh!t and some punchlines..for this it was "oh y'all got jokes?!" who even says that anymore.? That should be some obscure thing said randomly. The turtles dialogue had to have been just awful as all hell to deliver. They must have put alot of other cringeworthy banter in there as well. Like 60 year old white guys wrote it thinking of how can we make these guys sound cool to the young people! Not to mention the stereotype issue, people just noting that the turtles must be black guys.
sharePerhaps that line fits the character and that situation. Maybe after they fleshed out Bebop, they were scripting the movie and asked themselves: "How would Bebop respond to Michelangelo's dialogue?"
And that is what they came up with because, y'know, it fits the character.
That line wasn't written to be anything spectacular or memorable or special. It just is what it is.
